Photo of Brad Jensen City Connect Detroit’s data and technology guru, Brad Jensen, joined the organization in 2005. Brad seamlessly blends his technical skills and acumen with his knowledge of the community in his role as project Manager of the Detroit Data Partnership. Brad is able to effectively communicate with individuals on both the technical side and community side of the partnership, speaking the language that both understand, which has been key to its success. In managing the Detroit Data Partnership collaborative, Brad maintains their website www.detroitdata.org, and fields any questions and requests for maps, data and information from local community organizations.

Before working at City Connect Detroit, Brad worked as a computer technician for NPower Michigan and had City Connect Detroit as a client. There he helped nonprofits with their technical needs, data information, network support, databases and websites, and served as a technical strategic planning consultant.

Brad is a two-time graduate of the University of Michigan, receiving his undergraduate degree in Germanic Language and Literature and his Masters in Information Science. Through his studies, Brad has had the opportunity to live, work and study abroad, living in Germany for four years. Brad also studied information technology development in South Africa, working to improve social and economic development in South Africa. During this time, Brad was selected by the United Nations Development Program to present on his work in Mozambique.

After living all over the world, Brad still loves calling the Detroit area home and seeing the opportunity and positive development going on in the city. He owns two electric cars and is a founding member of the Mad Scientist Club, a group of individuals that are interested in inventing.
