Erik Tungate is the Business Development Manager for the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC).
Prior to coming to the DEGC, Mr. Tungate was the Director of Community & Economic Development for the City of Hamtramck. He was also the Executive Director for the Hamtramck Downtown Development Authority and the Director of the Hamtramck Economic Development Corporation. He has been the city administrator for the community development block grant program, home funds program, housing rehabilitation program, code enforcement, zoning and planning. Prior to his time with the City of Hamtramck he worked in the banking industry in commercial real estate
Mr. Tungate received his MBA from Wayne State University in December 2001 and his Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Business Administration from Western Michigan University in 1999.
