Karen Schrock
President and CEO
Adult Well-Being Services, Inc.
Karen Schrock has been President and CEO of Adult Well-Being Services since 1998. She took a leave of absence in 2002 to serve as the Interim Executive Director of the Detroit/Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency.
From 1978 through 1997, Ms. Schrock served in a number of administrative positions in the Michigan Department of Public Health, including: Chief of the Office of Substance Abuse Services, Chief of the Division of Services to Crippled Children, Founding Chief of the Michigan Office of Minority Health and Chief of the Eastern Regional Division.
Karen spent four years with the Michigan League for Human Services as a Policy & Research Associate prior to her twenty years in State Government. From 1995 to 2006, she was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy, in Addiction Studies. She has served as a consultant to the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration as a reviewer of federal grant applications since 1996. She has a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, both from Michigan State University.
