City Connect Detroit Services: High-Tech, High-Touch
To put it simply, City Connect Detroit was established to increase the amount of
federal and national dollars into the problem-solving community in and around
Detroit. Our response includes technical solutions - such as our website
and funding database - as well as non-technical solutions designed to help
nonprofits, city departments and others capitalize on funding opportunities,
while increasing their capacity through collaboration. Our core services
include:

Funding Database, Alerts, and Related Online Tools:
Becoming a member of City Connect Detroit entitles you to access to our
online database of federal and national funding opportunities, including email
alerts based on your funding preferences. In addition, our website offers our
members information about funding trends, as well as other resources designed
to help you obtain funding.

Collaboration Management and Support: Collaboration - a common
requirement for competitive project funding - can be tricky without the proper
resources. City Connect Detroit assists groups in establishing, defining and
maintaining collaborations designed to address community issues. With an
emphasis on funding, City Connect Detroit’s help can keep collaborative
projects "on track", while reducing the time commitment required of each
partner.

Grant Writing, Strategy Development, and Other Assistance: City Connect
Detroit provides customized assistance to organizations and collaboratives on a
case by case basis. The type of assistance provided varies based on need, and
has included: grant writing, funding development strategizing, identification
of funding prospects, and bringing organizations together to form new
partnerships around funding opportunities. In many cases, City Connect Detroit
will engage other community partners to provide assistance and services, as
necessary.
