Promise Neighborhoods Community of Practice

This collaborative brings together local service agencies from across Wayne County, Michigan with an interest in sharing lessons learned from their work in Promise Neighborhoods. Promise Neighborhoods are a specific form of community-focused change initiative, modeled after the Harlem Children’s Zone in New York City, NY. The collaborative has agreed to form and signed a memorandum of understanding. At its first formal meeting in November 2011, partners began brainstorming opportunities for information sharing and mutual learning in 2012.
