Data Driven Detroit

Data Driven Detroit is a unincorporated organization that operates as a semi-autonomous program of City Connect Detroit. The purpose of Data Driven Detroit is to collect, store, analyze, and share data and information about Detroit and Michigan for use by local nonprofit, business, and government planners.

Funded initially with grants from The Skillman and Kresge Foundations in 2008, Data Driven Detroit is today a robust storehouse of data and analysis pertaining to myriad issues confronting the region. The organization is focused on:

– Collaborating with local government, community agencies, and other regional entities to access and develop unique datasets

–Conducting original research on a broad range of trends and demographic, socioeconomic, economic and housing conditions

–Using advanced technology to gather and analyze data to inform local decision-making

–Measuring results and reporting the outcomes of a wide variety of community change initiatives

Data Driven Detroit is administered by City Connect Detroit at the behest of its funding partners. In this way, the agency provides a platform for community investment, speeding the time to market for funding organizations.
